When you hire us, you know who your lawyer is.
Unlike many attorneys, we do not refer your case out to other lawyers or legal contractors. Our lawyers handle all the work on your case. Use caution when retaining attorneys who may choose to refer your case to counsel they have an association agreement with. The attorney referring your case often receives a large referral fee for sending your case to the referral attorney. This usually amounts to 33.3% to 50% of the total fee. The referral attorney receives a large sum of money for the referral however, this means that the attorney accepting the referral, the one who will be working on your case, is working for a 33.3% to 50% smaller fee than he or she would earn if they did not have to pay the referral. It is common sense that those cases wherein the referral attorney is able to make 100% of the fee are going to take precedence over your case where a referral fee must be paid. In other words, your case may be placed at the bottom of the referral attorneys case list and treated as such. Again, we will be the primary lawyers working on your case. If a decision is made to engage the services of an attorney not connected with our firm, that lawyer will be paid from our fee’s for the assistance he or she lends to your case. You are not married to your attorney; you can hire and fire your attorney at will without incurring any costs to you. All substantive work on your case is done by our attorneys, not paralegals or legal assistants.
